    With the TED lecture, we have been told that nowadays fast fashion is harming our environment. In order to improve the whole situation, textile will have a huge responsibility to solve this  problem.            
    However,with the development of technology in our lives, we are more and more attention to environmental protection. I found a designer in Hong Kong has always insisted on environmental protection.

     This fashion show is showcasing the new clothing line of eco fashion designer, Lucy Shih.

She produces multi-purpose garments with environmentally friendly materials. 
Some of her pieces from her latest collection can be worn in 42 different ways."My clothes can transform into lots of styles. I think that when one material can bring more than one style, it's eco-friendly." Lucy Shih said



   As for me, I more like try using recycle materials like cans, plastic bottles, everything that we are using in our daily life.I think we can changing the structure of the clothing and adding some elements in our life, like wheat plants and materials that can be recycled onto those existing ones will be good enough.

                     Monna Vanna 1866, Dante Gabriel Rossetti


      This painting and The Beloved shown nearby, are part of a series Rossetti painted as a sensual celebration of female beauty. The model for Monna Vanna was Alexa Wilding, who first sat to him in 1865.
Rossetti chose the title (suggesting a vain woman) after the picture was completed. A lady named Monna appears in the works of the early Italian writers Dante and Boccaccio. This picture can be seen as an imaginary portrait of her, as well as a real portrait of the model. Rossetti called it ‘probably the most effective ... room decoration which I have ever painted’

Doll Collection

   This video is from this lady's grandmother's doll collection.  I astonished when i watching the video and very admire her dedication. Did not repeat those doll texture feels very old, like each doll has a story, it seems that all the dolls are unique.She's grandma used to make handmade dolls she even made their clothes.I saw her collect a variety of dolls, and even Japan are Chinese minority doll, although she does not know the meaning of these exotic doll, but she is still clinging to the collection.

  In my opion,I thinke some people they a collecting things for there own reasons and maybe in their childhood they need a friend, perhaps they need a whisper children. Increasing with age, they collect things mood change. I still firmly believe that everyone will collect their favorite things. It just likeI'm very enjoy to collect ticket, a wide variety of tickets, opera tickets, travel tickets, stamps, train tickets. Although they are only a card, but I think they record time, record or good or bad memories.

V&A Blythe house visit

     

    The V&A has its origins in the Great Exhibition of 1851, with which Henry Cole, the museum's first director, was involved in planning.The Blythe house is a small museum for V&A and British museum. It was build at 1900 as a bank. Then at 1970 V&A and British museum use it as a storage of collection. The collection of textiles consists of more than 53,000 examples, and there most is from western European though all populated continents are represented, this is the largest such collection in the world. Techniques represented include weaving, printing, quilting embroidery, lace, tapestry and carpets.I was very lucky and happy get a  chance to visit here and had a short time to enjoy in this museum.And then. I im so excited when I was have a chance to visit the small exhibition what about this fabric and every fabric is just like they have they own story.There was a small exhibition display those old and previous textile books. These books were collect all the fabric and technique from 1970s.  how the price drop or rise and the changes of popular pattern, it was a show about the technology process development. however,the fabric in this collection was not exist on the world and out of our life now. 

Reflection of Techinical Block 2 &Winding Wrapping

Technical Block 1 weave

                     

         this is my first time to learn how to used loom and knew about the structure of weaving and whith this technical block, I started to learn what is the weave technical and how it is work to become a beaufual fabric.And with this 2 week I'm very enjoy in it. however, Im just not ready to design my fabric because I come late 1 mouth about my visa,bute it dosent mutter.so this 2 weeek I tried to use different loom to creative different patterns,and Im realy like to see other people's work because I can learned more knowledge.

Technical block 2 knit

                                   
                                      

        In this technical block, I'm not really enjoyed at first time ! because that  machine always stop working .maybe I havent find the ture way to do it. and I felt not enough in knitting block was that I had not try to use lot different material and knit technical. Also I felt really hard to control the knitting machine haha,but Im so lucky we have a very nice teacher to help me that I can do it better and I think I enjoyed in the end.

        In this technical block,I obtain lots different experience of using different kinds of material,I think this is my favorite techincal,I really enjoyed use sew machin because its like drawing! and it just like use using different stitch way and material to drawing the fabric,so it effected my work and wide my abilities of the  technical.

Technical block 4 print 

       Whith this techincal block,I learend how to using photoshop to design fabric,and this was the first time I tried to use computer and learn to use Photoshop,also the Photoshop lessons were really useful to print.ActuallyI know I'm not good at use photoshop but I really enjoy it because it can use many ways to show the patten.I'm really exciting about screen print process,but my screen can not show the all pattern and we did not have enough time to practice more in this block.
